Responsibilities
- Serve as an initial point of contact during cluster outages or disruptions, quickly assessing and resolving critical incidents as they occur.
- Maintain exceptionally high cluster availability, aiming for performance measured in multiple nines, and establish service-level agreements to monitor reliability.
- Identify recurring or systemic issues within clusters and collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement targeted fixes.
- Create comprehensive metrics and monitoring systems to evaluate cluster health, developing custom observability tools when standard solutions are insufficient.
- Support software and research teams in defining equitable cluster usage policies and assist in building systems to enforce these policies.
- Contribute to projections of cluster expansion and help determine effective scaling strategies, balancing cost efficiency and operational usability.
