About the Role
The role involves leading cloud infrastructure projects on Google Cloud Platform, supporting platform scalability and reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure, scalable cloud environments using GCP
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions
- Support incident response and root cause analysis for cloud systems
- Collaborate with development teams on cloud-native application design
- Ensure compliance with security and governance policies
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises or other platforms
- Maintain documentation for cloud architecture and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud services and tools
- Drive adoption of best practices in cloud security and operations
- Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to improve system resilience
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise
- Stay current with evolving GCP features and cloud technologies
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads to GCP
- Involvement in building multi-region cloud architectures
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio
- Experience with data protection and encryption in the cloud
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001)
