Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in database administration, engineering, or management roles.
- Proven background in cloud operations, data platform management, infrastructure support, or managed services, with direct involvement in live production systems.
- Hands-on expertise with at least one major public cloud provider’s managed database services, including leading complex troubleshooting and administration tasks for production databases.
- Solid understanding of SQL and core database concepts such as indexing, query optimization, locking, concurrency control, transactions, replication, high availability, backup and recovery methods, and capacity planning.
- Direct experience managing or supporting relational database systems like SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle within cloud-managed environments or comparable production settings.
- Track record of leading incident resolution, performance optimization, backup validation, failover preparedness, patching strategies, and operational changes in production databases.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud database security practices, including encryption, private networking, access controls, auditing, network security policies, and compliance with operational standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in managed services, consulting, or multi-client support environments, particularly with enterprise clients using cloud-native database solutions.
- Familiarity with multiple public cloud database platforms or service models, including relational, NoSQL, distributed, caching, analytics, or serverless databases.
- Working proficiency in automation, scripting, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and observability tools to enhance database reliability and operational efficiency.
- Experience ensuring operational readiness, replication stability, backup integrity, performance tuning, and change management in cloud-managed database environments.
- Holdings of relevant certifications in cloud platforms, databases, data engineering, Kubernetes, or IT operations are considered advantageous.
