What You'll Do
Oversee the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of multiple SQL Server databases in a continuously operating environment. Ensure systems remain available and performant through proactive monitoring, tuning, and upgrades.
Optimize database and application performance by analyzing queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans. Develop and enforce reliable backup and recovery protocols to safeguard data integrity.
Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls and encryption. Design and maintain replication processes and ensure high availability using SQL Server Availability Groups. Write and maintain efficient SQL scripts to support operational and reporting needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years managing mission-critical SQL Server environments
- At least 5 years of hands-on TSQL programming
- Proven experience with database replication (2+ years)
- Experience configuring and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups (2+ years)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a track record of meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS
- Experience with modern data and streaming platforms such as Kafka, MSK, Snowflake, Aurora DB, and SNS
- Working knowledge of AWS and AWS CLI
- Experience managing databases in Microsoft Azure
- Certifications such as MCSE, MCDBA, or OCP
- Proficiency in .NET technologies, PowerShell, C#, Rubrik, TFS, or GitHub
