Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain cloud-hosted database environments for critical enterprise applications
- Ensure database availability, performance, and security across multi-region deployments
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud databases
- Monitor system health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema and queries
- Support database migrations and upgrades with minimal service disruption
- Enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
- Automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments
- Participate in on-call incident response rotations
- Design and deploy scalable database architectures on cloud platforms
- Work closely with DevOps and cloud engineering teams on integration tasks
- Maintain documentation for database configurations and operational procedures
- Perform capacity planning and resource forecasting for database growth
- Support compliance audits and security assessments
