AECOM is hiring a Senior Civil Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular field inspections of civil construction projects
  • Detect and report structural deficiencies and safety risks
  • Ensure construction activities align with contractual agreements
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and escalate findings to supervisors
  • Monitor construction quality throughout project phases
  • Observe contractor operations on site
  • Approve completed work that meets contract specifications
  • Reject substandard or non-compliant construction work
  • Keep a record of all rejected work items
  • Support resolution of field-related construction challenges
  • Coordinate with contractor teams to anticipate upcoming tasks
  • Compare planned construction activities against published schedule forecasts
  • Review contractual obligations, submittals, shop drawings, and related documents
  • Maintain daily contact with the Resident Engineer for task execution
  • Communicate regularly with contractor field personnel
  • Monitor and record progress of construction activities
  • Track adherence to project timelines and contribute to payment evaluation
  • Inspect construction output for compliance with contract documents and modifications
  • Report any work that fails to meet required standards
  • Record all site activities using daily logs, photographs, and video evidence
  • Verify and log contractor time, labor, and material usage
  • Carry out inspections to confirm adherence to contract requirements
  • Ensure delivered materials match approved submittals
  • Witness and approve contractor-conducted quality assurance and testing procedures
  • Maintain accurate project records, including periodic reports and logs

On-site — New Jersey

Other

  • Full-time position requiring physical presence at project site
  • Daily coordination with Resident Engineer and contractor field staff
  • Monitors compliance with health and safety regulations on site
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Resident Engineer
