Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design efforts for water, wastewater, and bioresources projects across feasibility, conceptual, and detailed design stages.
- Produce, verify, and manage civil engineering outputs such as calculations, layouts, models, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Take full responsibility for designated civil engineering packages, overseeing technical accuracy, scope control, budget adherence, and schedule delivery.
- Conduct and lead site inspections, surveys, data evaluations, and technical meetings with clients, contractors, operators, and technology partners.
- Design functional civil solutions and hydraulic models for treatment facilities, including tanks, channels, chambers, pipelines, supports, access systems, drainage, foundations, and site arrangements.
- Coordinate civil design interfaces with process, mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, geotechnical, construction, and operations disciplines, considering access, maintenance, lifting, and temporary works.
- Support safety-focused design practices, including CDM compliance, risk assessments, carbon reduction strategies, material selection, HAZOP/SWIFT studies, and technical assurance.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier submissions, resolve technical queries, and assist during construction, commissioning, handover, and asset integration phases.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and graduates while contributing to the development of civil design standards, templates, and digital engineering workflows.
- Assist in securing new projects by providing technical input for proposals, defining scopes, preparing responses, and engaging with clients.
