About the Role
Design and implement high-fidelity character assets for a cinematic RPG, contributing to both concept realization and final in-game implementation.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality 3D character models from concept art
- Create realistic textures and materials for characters
- Collaborate with art directors to maintain visual style
- Optimize assets for real-time performance
- Implement characters into the game engine
- Work closely with animation and rigging teams
- Ensure anatomical accuracy and expressive features
- Maintain consistency across character variants
- Participate in art reviews and critiques
- Troubleshoot technical issues in character pipelines
- Adapt designs to meet technical constraints
- Produce detailed normal and displacement maps
- Support creation of facial expressions and blend shapes
- Integrate clothing and accessories into character builds
- Follow production schedules and milestones
- Contribute to character concept development
- Ensure assets meet platform-specific requirements
- Use digital sculpting tools for high-resolution models
- Assist in defining character art standards
- Maintain organized project files and naming conventions
- Collaborate with narrative designers on character identity
- Refine models based on feedback from leads
- Support marketing with character renders when needed
- Participate in recruitment of artistic talent
- Stay current with industry techniques and tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with historical or realistic character styles
- Background in film or VFX
- Knowledge of costume and armor design
- Experience with digital human creation
- Familiarity with photogrammetry
- Additional language skills
- Experience in open-world games
