We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Django/Python) to join an international project team focused on building scalable web applications and AI-powered data solutions. The role involves designing reliable services, developing new features, and integrating third-party APIs. This position reports directly to the CTO of the project team and offers the opportunity to own core parts of the product with direct impact on customers.
This position suits international candidates based in Thailand or those open to relocating to Thailand.
Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining server-side logic using Django and Python.
Designing Django models with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis).
Scoping, integrating, and managing third-party services and APIs, including secure OAuth flows, data validation, and compliance with approval processes.
Collaborating with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
Optimizing application performance and scalability.
Writing clean, composable, modular code in an organized filesystem.
Participating in code reviews and contributing to improving development processes.
Qualification:
5+ years of experience building Django/Python web applications in production.
Strong understanding of Django ORM, template system, and middleware.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Django REST Framework.
Experience integrating APIs and working with OAuth flows.
Strong Git/GitHub workflow habits (branches, PRs, reviews).
Understanding of web security principles, HTML5, and modern web components.
Excellent written English and ability to collaborate in a remote environment.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with ad-tech or marketing APIs (Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, Amazon Ads).
Production experience with HTMX and Django Components.
Knowledge of caching strategies with Redis.
Familiarity with asynchronous programming (Celery, Django-Q2).
CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions).
Teaching experience (bonus: at university level).
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
