Grant Thornton New Zealand is hiring a Senior Auditor

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee audit engagements from start to finish, ensuring adherence to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of clients' business operations, processes, and financial reporting systems.
  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, offering guidance and support.
  • Work with clients to address business challenges and support their goals.
  • Keep current with the latest industry regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in external auditing.
  • Proficiency in IFRS standards.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and standards.
  • Skilled in using audit software and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead a team of junior auditors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple audits simultaneously.
  • Ability to have fun.

Nice to Have

  • Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is preferred.
