Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic design of organized data structures and oversee the architecture, setup, and governance of the Atlassian environment, beginning with Jira and Statuspage.
- Engage in a cross-functional Jira governance group to assess incoming requests, coordinate stakeholders, and guide decisions that support both platform stability and business growth.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, IT, and security teams to understand workflows and develop tailored Atlassian solutions.
- Establish and maintain governance policies for the Atlassian platform, including project setup rules, workflow consistency, naming standards, field usage, and access controls.
- Develop and manage automated workflows in Jira to minimize manual effort and enhance data accuracy.
- Guide new teams and initiatives through Atlassian onboarding, including creating training content, leading sessions, and serving as a trusted technical resource.
- Manage the vendor relationship for Atlassian products and influence the platform’s future direction as it expands.
- Identify areas of technical debt, configuration inconsistencies, and process shortcomings, then create, prioritize, and execute a backlog to resolve them.
- Work with IT teams to integrate Atlassian tools with other enterprise systems such as Slack, identity providers, CI/CD pipelines, and CRM platforms.
- Assess, oversee, and audit third-party apps and plugins to maintain system performance, stability, and compliance with security standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, workflows, and key decisions to ensure long-term maintainability by the broader team.
- Ensure all configuration choices uphold strong security and privacy practices.
