Clinton Health Access Initiative is hiring a Senior Associate, Clinical AI

Responsibilities

  • Define clinical and user requirements for AI tools based on local healthcare workflows, infrastructure limitations, connectivity, and interoperability, then translate these into actionable inputs for global product and engineering teams.
  • Lead in-country pilot deployments and scale-ups, including site selection, training development and delivery, supervision frameworks, data collection methods, and feedback mechanisms to inform product improvements.
  • Collaborate transparently by sharing insights, identifying challenges, and recording decisions in ways that enable team-wide responsiveness and coordination.
  • Coordinate clinical evaluations and research initiatives such as retrospective analyses, prospective pilot assessments, and joint research with external partners, aligning closely with global teams on study design and data needs.
  • Partner with clinical stakeholders including government health authorities, digital health units, professional associations, training institutions, and frontline healthcare providers.
  • Safeguard the quality and reliability of clinical data used in model development and impact assessment, ensuring accuracy, structure, traceability, and patient confidentiality.
  • Monitor and report progress against clinical and implementation milestones and quality benchmarks.
  • Travel domestically on a regular basis and internationally when required, up to 25% of the time annually, to support pilot sites and stakeholder engagement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership within the AI Health Systems team or senior management across global and country operations.

  • The position involves frequent domestic travel within Ethiopia and occasional international travel, amounting to 10–25% of time annually.
  • The role may be offered at either the Associate or Senior Associate level, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
