Responsibilities
- Develop AI and machine learning models using generative AI and large language models, integrating them into cloud-hosted SaaS platforms for healthcare applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, clinical experts, data scientists, designers, engineers, and medical professionals to create impactful AI-driven solutions.
- Design, construct, and assess AI systems that process structured and unstructured data to enable features like prediction, summarization, recommendations, semantic search, and classification.
- Conduct research to identify suitable algorithms, methodologies, and evaluation frameworks, advancing R&D efforts toward deployable model systems.
- Carry out data gathering, preprocessing, prompt engineering, parameter optimization, model training, and performance assessment, building or leveraging tools as necessary.
- Advance responsible AI practices by applying evaluation frameworks such as LLM-as-judge, RAGAS, and LangSmith, and create custom metrics to ensure model reliability, equity, and safety.
- Foster a cooperative team environment by sharing expertise and supporting organizational growth in AI capabilities.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid — Mississauga, Salt Lake City
Travel to office expectations
Candidates must live within commuting distance of the listed office location. Regular in-person attendance is expected for team-specific events on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. This is a mandatory requirement for the position.

If the role is remote, employees must travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices for certain events, including onboarding, team gatherings, and semi-annual or annual meetings.
