Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives on topics such as data quality, observability and model optimisation.
- Design, build and maintain high quality datasets for engineers to build robust customer facing reporting
- Collaborate closely with engineers to assess and mitigate the impact of upstream product changes
- Apply domain knowledge to develop semantic layers for business intelligence
- Develop data models optimized for efficient querying over large datasets, specifically for reports embedded within our main platform
Requirements
- Proven experience in transforming, testing, and documenting data while maintaining a robust data lineage.
- Knowledge in data modelling, data access, and data storage techniques
- Experience following software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration
- Strong proficiency using SQL in cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake) and are comfortable with performance optimization, data partitioning, and window functions
- Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction
Nice to Have
- Experience with dbt for data transformation layer
- Experience with BI tooling such as Power BI or Looker
- Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
