E-Space is hiring a Senior 5G Software Test Engineer, Physical Layer

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement test plans focused on the physical layer for 5G NR software
  • Assess core physical layer operations including modulation, channel estimation, synchronization, equalization, coding, and HARQ mechanisms
  • Ensure physical layer implementations meet 3GPP Release 15, 16, and 17 requirements
  • Develop detailed test cases, regression suites, and validation scenarios at the PHY level
  • Produce, evaluate, and validate test inputs, signal waveforms, and system logs
  • Build automation scripts and analysis tools using languages such as Python, MATLAB, and bash
  • Test PHY performance using industry-standard equipment from R&S and Keysight, along with commercial user equipment
  • Conduct both over-the-air and conducted testing in controlled laboratory settings
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate issues involving PHY, timing, RF, and system performance across hardware and software layers
  • Partner with development teams to replicate defects and confirm resolution effectiveness
  • Verify correct integration between PHY software and RF front-end as well as digital baseband components
  • Work with software-defined radio platforms and system-on-chip architectures, including ARM processors, DSPs, and hardware accelerators
  • Ensure functionality adheres to real-time processing and low-latency requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PHY development, RF engineering, systems, hardware, and protocol stack groups
  • Engage productively within a globally distributed team spanning the U.S., Europe, and India
  • Follow Agile/SCRUM methodologies and participate in continuous integration workflows
  • Record test documentation, outcomes, and issue tracking using Confluence, JIRA, or similar platforms
