Applied Intuition is hiring a Senior 5G Software Engineer for the Cognitive Sensing and Radio Frequency team at EpiSci. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement 5G software solutions, focusing on wireless communication protocols and their integration with Software Defined Radios.
What You'll Do
- Develop software solutions for 5G wireless communication systems.
- Implement the latest 3GPP specification 5G NR (New Radio) protocols and algorithms.
- Integrate 5G software into USRP and other SDR platforms.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate 5G software performance and reliability.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on wireless communication technologies.
- Experience with software integration and knowledge of 5G architecture and 3GPP standards.
- Experience with RF tuning Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) systems.
- Experience in 5G open-source software communities, including OpenAirInterface5G (OAI), and integrating USRP hardware with software protocols.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Willingness to travel as projects require; estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week.
Nice to Have
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C and C++.
- Ability to translate 5G specification documents into working software suites.
- Experience integrating standard-faithful 5G wireless network software on USRPs.
- Proficiency with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or other network emulation tools.
- Strong interest in 5G O-RAN, 6G, Sidelink, NextGen Wireless Comms, and Wireless IoT.
