Responsibilities
- Supervise security staff during your assigned shift, assigning breaks, post assignments, and duties.
- Train new security officers / residential aide employees in all aspects of the facility.
- Monitor access control and ensure effective use of the magnetometer and x-ray machine.
- Respond to incidents and utilize crisis management to protect the safety of the staff and clients.
- Make rounds throughout the facility and external premises to prevent, detect, deter, and report hazardous situations, trespassers, and illegal activities.
- Respond to emergencies in person throughout the building, and provide guidance and support to line staff and subordinates.
- Conduct daily security and fire safety system inspections.
- Fulfill all job responsibilities of a Safety Security Officer in their absence.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Assist the Security Operations Manager in preparing and executing fire drills.
- Oversee AWOL family property pack up.
- Monitor logging of client property to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure that all managers are kept aware of critical incidents on assigned shifts.
- Review log book entries, incident reports, and critical administrative responsibilities on assigned shift, checking for errors and ensuring accuracy.
- Attend various meetings and training courses as needed.
- Check inventory of all assigned equipment daily and investigate any discrepancies.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must hold an F80 Certificate.
- Ability to supervise security staff during assigned shifts.
- Experience with access control systems, magnetometer, and x-ray machine operation.
- Proven ability to respond to incidents and apply crisis management techniques.
- Ability to conduct rounds throughout the facility and external premises to detect and deter hazards.
- Experience responding to emergencies and providing guidance to staff.
- Capable of conducting daily security and fire safety system inspections.
- Willingness and ability to fulfill duties of a Safety Security Officer when needed.
- Experience providing crisis intervention.
- Ability to assist in preparing and executing fire drills.
- Experience overseeing property pack up for AWOL families.
- Ability to monitor logging of client property for accuracy.
- Ensure managers are informed of critical incidents during assigned shifts.
- Review log book entries, incident reports, and administrative tasks for accuracy.
- Attend required meetings and training courses.
- Check daily inventory of assigned equipment and investigate discrepancies.

Structure: Reports directly to the Security Operations Manager.
Additional Information
- Position is hourly with potential for overtime.
- Operations within the facility are 24 hours.
- Requires face-to-face relief.
- Position reports directly to the Security Operations Manager.
