Responsibilities
- Verify the identity of employees, customers, and visitors entering or leaving the facility.
- Monitor internal and external surveillance cameras and respond promptly to policy violations, emergencies, or suspicious behavior.
- Manage access for authorized visitors, issue temporary badges, and deny entry to those who do not meet access requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all visitors and vendors entering the facility using the PeopleTracker system.
- Conduct multiple physical security inspections each shift, including patrols of building interiors and exteriors to check for unsecured entry points, tampering, or unauthorized individuals.
- Document all security checks and report any findings.
- Monitor access control and fire alarm systems, responding appropriately to any alerts.
- Contact local emergency services such as police, fire, or medical response when necessary.
- Serve as a first responder during medical emergencies.
- Carry out shipping and receiving tasks following established procedures.
- Respond promptly to security-related tickets, cases, and emails.
- Ensure security offices, equipment, and loading areas are clean and well-organized.
- Seek support from the Security Supervisor when needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One or more years of relevant experience or training.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and willingness to work extra hours as required.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license is preferred.
