The Trustees of Reservations is hiring a Seasonal Lead Environmental Educator (Appleton)

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver daily educational programming focused on farming, sustainability, food systems, and nature using on-site farm resources, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Assist camp educators and counselors in creating engaging activities and managing group dynamics effectively.
  • Offer flexible, on-the-ground support to camper groups and leadership staff as required throughout the day.
  • Take initiative in managing and guiding the use of the Learning Garden and Education Barnyard spaces.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of hands-on outdoor cooking experiences for campers.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Camp Directors to mentor counselors in building effective daily and weekly activity plans.
  • Monitor inventory levels and submit supply orders to ensure program readiness.
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents, addressing questions and sharing essential camper updates.
  • Review and coordinate daily staff schedules to ensure smooth camp operations.
  • Attend regular check-ins with the Camp Director to discuss progress, feedback, and performance.

  • Employment period: May 11 to August 21, 2026.
  • Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
  • Part-time commitment from May 11 to June 5.
  • Position classification: Seasonal, Non-Exempt.
  • Work location: Onsite only.
  • Two weeks of paid training offered collaboratively with the team.
  • Part-time work from May 11 to June 5 with year-round staff to prepare materials, set up spaces, and assist in leading staff training prior to camp launch.
