About the Role
This role offers a dynamic, hands-on experience educating youth aged 4 to 13 through immersive farm activities, fostering connections to food, land, and sustainability in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Promote the safety, growth, and engagement of campers, team members, and yourself.
- Develop and deliver educational programming centered on farming, food systems, and natural resource stewardship with guidance from program staff.
- Supervise a designated group of campers in week-long sessions, grouped by age: 5–6, 7–9, or 10–13 years old.
- Oversee and mentor youth interns (ages 14–17) assigned to your camper group.
- Create daily, age-appropriate activities and design weekly farm-based projects.
- Guide campers in daily animal care and garden tasks in the Friendship Garden and pasture areas; assist colleagues in maintaining shared spaces.
- Keep regular records for reflection and planning purposes.
- Communicate with parents about camp details, camper updates, and farm-related topics.
- Facilitate group presentations at weekly Farm Fridays events.
- Complete daily facility maintenance and supervise classroom cleanup routines.
- Attend regular check-ins with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director to review progress and performance.
