Telespazio Belgium is hiring a Satellite Operations Engineer

About the Role

The engineer will be responsible for maintaining satellite health and performance by executing operational procedures, analyzing telemetry, and supporting mission planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor satellite telemetry and command systems during routine and critical operations
  • Perform real-time analysis of spacecraft status to ensure optimal performance
  • Execute orbital maneuvers and station-keeping activities as scheduled
  • Respond to anomalies with troubleshooting and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with ground station teams for communication passes and data retrieval
  • Prepare and validate operational procedures and checklists
  • Support mission planning by providing spacecraft availability and constraints
  • Document operational events and maintain accurate logs
  • Participate in simulation exercises to validate procedures and readiness
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols
  • Interface with spacecraft manufacturers for technical coordination
  • Contribute to the improvement of operational tools and automation
  • Assist in the integration of new satellites into the operations framework
  • Maintain configuration control of spacecraft parameters
  • Support pre-launch preparations and mission rehearsals
  • Provide on-call support during critical mission phases
  • Track and report spacecraft orbital data and ephemeris
  • Perform routine health checks and subsystem evaluations
  • Collaborate with payload teams for instrument operations
  • Ensure secure handling of command and control data
  • Participate in incident reviews and root cause analysis
  • Stay current with space regulations and operational standards
  • Train team members on operational procedures and systems
  • Support system upgrades and software validation
  • Maintain documentation for operational processes and lessons learned
