Responsibilities
- Prepares outgoing bottle kits and cooled sample containers for transport to the laboratory.
- Uses the laboratory information management system (LIMS) to process bottle order requests from project managers and assemble kits as instructed.
- Engages with project managers and clients in a professional and respectful manner.
- Keeps team members informed about the progress and status of order fulfillment.
- Replenishes inventory upon receipt to ensure materials are accessible when needed.
- Confirms the accuracy and completeness of all bottle orders before dispatch.
- Keeps the shipping and receiving workspace organized and safe for operations.
- Follows standard operating procedures specific to courier duties.
- Collects and delivers samples and bottle orders as required.
- Counts incoming samples to verify alignment with the Chain of Custody and checks for physical damage.
- Receives and signs Chain of Custody documentation.
- Ensures clients properly sign, date, and record time stamps when releasing samples.
- Transports temperature-sensitive samples on ice between client locations and the service center or to partner labs.
- Unloads incoming samples and inspects for damage or expired hold times to preserve sample integrity.
- Uses directions or maps to locate client sites as indicated in courier requests.
- Logs arrival and departure times for all pick-ups and deliveries in the courier logbook.
- Tracks vehicle maintenance records and mileage, submitting reports monthly.
- Performs tasks in compliance with Section 14 of the Transportation and Fleet Safety guidelines.
- Adheres to the organization’s Driver Evaluation and Qualification Policy.
- Keeps the delivery vehicle in good working condition.
- May be assigned additional sample handling tasks by the Service Center Manager.
