Scalable GmbH is hiring a Rust Software Engineer to join a team building high-throughput, low-latency financial systems. In this role, you will focus on the core services that process time-sensitive financial data and execute critical workflows where correctness, reliability, and observability are non-negotiable.
What You'll Do
- Design and build latency-sensitive Rust services handling high-frequency data and decisioning.
- Implement robust, testable financial logic with strict correctness guarantees.
- Build and maintain streaming pipelines for real-time inputs, event processing, and feedback loops.
- Optimize performance across CPU, memory, and network using profiling and benchmarking.
- Collaborate on API design, data models, and system architecture.
What We're Looking For
- A university degree in a relevant field of study or a comparable qualification.
- Extensive experience in the tech stack: Rust, Docker, Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform.
- Strong Rust proficiency, including ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, async, and error handling.
- Excellent systems thinking regarding latency, throughput, backpressure, and failure modes.
- Experience building high-performance services and low-latency systems in production.
- Strong analytical thinking in both technical and product domains.
- Excellent, clear, and concise communication skills.
- A passion for well-architected, testable, and documented code.
Nice to Have
- Experience with domain-driven design, distributed architectures, and/or microservices.
- Background in financial services and exposure to compliance or audit requirements.
