AECOM is hiring a Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Align project quality documentation with contractual requirements.
  • Implement and maintain the project's quality management plan.
  • Supervise field activities to ensure compliance with project timelines and construction schedules.
  • Manage field personnel efficiently, including shift planning, to reduce costs and optimize output.
  • Track and assess contractor progress daily and weekly against the baseline schedule, reporting delays to the construction manager.
  • Collaborate with the construction manager to resolve on-site issues and propose corrective measures.
  • Coordinate project-related activities with external agencies and utility providers.
  • Enforce compliance with approved health, safety, and environmental plans on site.
  • Supervise assistant engineers, lead inspectors, and office engineers.
  • Refer media and public inquiries to designated department contacts.
  • Draft project correspondence and submit to the construction manager for final approval.
  • Lead coordination meetings and progress reviews for the project team.
  • Ensure daily inspection reports are accurate, complete, and formally signed by authorized personnel.
  • Prepare and evaluate monthly payment estimates and final disbursements.
  • Uphold strong ethical conduct among all team members.
  • Review and submit monthly project status reports to the client.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on updates to the critical path method schedule.

Work Arrangement

Remote — Baltimore, MD

Other

  • Daily contact with Contractor's Project Manager and Plant Operations
  • Direct public and media inquiries to appropriate department representative
  • Staff must maintain high ethical standards
  • Oversee field staff deployment using day and night shifts to minimize overtime and travel
