The University of Chicago's Moskowitz Laboratory is hiring a Research Assistant I to join its team studying gene regulatory networks in organ development and homeostasis. This role provides foundational technical support within a pediatric research environment, with clear pathways for contributing to and advancing independent scientific research projects.
What You'll Do
- Provide basic technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment, performing routine techniques and analysis under direction.
- Collect and enter research data to support ongoing projects under direct supervision.
- Assist in data analysis and with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
- Comply with all institution, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, and mandates.
- Assist in drafting presentations on research findings.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum education from vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, RNA-seq.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: CRISPR genetic engineering.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Rapid protein degradation using the Degron system.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Bioinformatics.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Cardiac functional analyses.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Mouse genetics.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Lentivirus transduction.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Cell culture experience.
- Technical skills or knowledge in: Protein-protein interaction analysis using mass-spectrometry.
