Love's Travel Stops is hiring a Renewables Diesel Unit (RDU) Superintendent to provide strategic operational guidance for our Heartwell facility. In this role, you will be the subject matter authority for the department, ensuring processes meet standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute safe, reliable production targets for the facility.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership.
- Implement and monitor compliance programs and promote a safety culture through training and education.
- Prepare and execute audits on internal and external operating and regulatory safety procedures.
- Monitor operations, maintenance, and quality management to ensure product standards are met.
- Advise and manage capital and operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives.
- Identify and review hazards, risks, and opportunities proactively and conduct incident investigations.
- Lead and develop a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, making decisions related to talent management.
- Optimize process performance, including feedstock management, catalyst performance, and equipment utilization.
- Support MOC, PHA, and HAZOP processes and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of related work experience.
- Experience in Renewable/Bio Diesel, Steam reformation, Oil and Gas Industry, Hydro processing, or a PSM-regulated facility.
- Experience overseeing operations for multiple departments, processes, and shifts, ensuring policies for safety and environmental compliance are followed.
- Experience providing operational leadership to audit, inspection, and risk assessment processes.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Chemical Engineering degree.
- 8+ years of related work experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement activities.
