Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with Sol teams and external partners to support the licensing, permitting, design, construction, and operation of solar + BESS projects across the Western Caribbean.
- Lead rigorous technical due diligence for new project acquisitions, including energy yield assessments, curtailment reviews, performance analysis, and detailed technical risk evaluations.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact with OEMs and suppliers, managing specifications, design clarifications, warranties, and equipment performance requirements.
- Oversee the full technical lifecycle of utility-scale and C&I solar + storage projects, ensuring efficient execution from early design through commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineering, development, procurement, and operations teams to optimize system design, performance, and overall project outcomes.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to support compliant, timely project approvals and interconnection processes.
- Stay current on renewable energy regulations, permitting requirements, and interconnection frameworks in the Dominican Republic (CNE, SIE), and provide guidance on regulatory risks and opportunities.
- Engage and work with consultants performing detailed technical due diligence, ensuring high-quality assessments of design packages, SLDs, site conditions, and performance benchmarks.
- Review commissioning plans and reports, verify testing protocols, and lead resolution of technical issues and punch-list items.
- Assess O&M plans, review maintenance reports, track preventive and corrective activities, and ensure performance aligns with contractual KPIs and system expectations.
- Review and provide technical and commercial input on EPC, O&M, and interconnection agreements, focusing on performance guarantees, availability requirements, and compliance conditions.
- Deliver clear engineering reviews of technical studies, proposals, and documentation across permitting, design, construction, and operational phases.
- Support HSE requirements for projects in pre-construction, under construction and in operation, ensuring adherence to Sol Ecolution’s HSE standards.
- Perform other related duties aligned with the level and scope of the role as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline
- Minimum Five years of relevant work experience in the solar industry working in a technical/engineering context, with Project Management responsibilities for the delivery of a portfolio of renewable energy projects, including HSE knowledge and experience
- Advanced user of PVSyst
- Strong track record in technical due diligence and in reviewing commissioning, performance, and O&M documentation
- Experience reading and marking up EPC, O&M, and interconnection agreements
- Working knowledge of the Dominican Republic renewable regulatory landscape and interconnection processes; ability to engage with utilities/regulators
- Ability to travel across the WC markets
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills in a project development and construction context
- Exceptionally high level of focus on quality of work and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Helioscope, Rated Power, and other software is a plus.
