Responsibilities
- Monitor individuals and assist with health, medication, safety, and daily living needs.
- Empower individuals to make independent decisions and provide emergency backup as necessary.
- Respond to emergency requests from individuals and escalate by following agency emergency calling procedures, potentially providing in-person backup staffing.
- Notify and coordinate with emergency services when required.
- Troubleshoot technology issues with remote support systems in homes.
- Provide ongoing technology training to individuals to encourage use of in-home devices.
- Monitor wearable devices when individuals are away from home and offer assistance and interventions as needed.
- Deliver in-service training and consultation to individuals, caregivers, parents, or guardians on technology, including remote support systems.
- Provide remote support to individuals across assigned programs on caseload.
- Handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Demonstrate reasonable decision-making even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of services.
- Complete and attend all scheduled trainings required by the agency.
- Participate in in-service sessions and other staff training, implementing new procedures.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of each individual's personal information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Prevent, recognize, and report abuse.
Requirements
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalency.
- Valid driver's license meeting agency motor vehicle record standards and reliable transportation to and from work.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of agency technology systems, including payroll platforms and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to effectively navigate, interpret, and utilize these systems for program and operational responsibilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD).
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse population.
Work Arrangement
On-site — remote location supported by the agency
Other
- Full time and part time opportunities are available working from 10pm-6am.
- This position does not operate from a home‑based setting.
- Hours vary based on assignment; may include variety of shifts and overnight hours.
- Working conditions: Remote support staff work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the people served. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions and deadlines. Direct support staff need to be flexible, attentive and be able to adjust to changing needs. Depending on the needs of people served, the work can be physically demanding including transferring or supporting people with mobility needs, lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds, walking or standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
