About the Role
This role involves delivering psychiatric care remotely to patients across Louisiana, conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, and managing medication treatment plans. The psychiatrist will work within a supportive clinical team to ensure high-quality, accessible mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
- Diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders
- Develop and manage individualized medication treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up appointments
- Collaborate with other clinicians to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to patient messages within established timeframes
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Support patient education about mental health conditions
- Prescribe and adjust psychiatric medications as needed
- Assess risk factors including suicidality and violence
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Adhere to state and federal telehealth regulations
- Work within established clinical protocols and guidelines
- Contribute to a patient-centered care model
- Address complex psychiatric cases with clinical rigor
- Maintain active medical licensure in Louisiana
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment
- Support timely access to care for new and existing patients
- Engage in peer collaboration for clinical consultation
- Promote continuity of care across treatment episodes
- Respond to urgent clinical needs as they arise
Nice to Have
