World Business Lenders, LLC is hiring a Development Manager for a contract role. You will lead technical teams and drive modernization efforts, with a focus on improving platform maturity, data quality, business impact, and team development.
What You'll Do
- Migrate legacy Excel and PDF processes to a consolidated platform; reduce time-to-insight and improve data quality.
- Increase adoption of architectural standards and practices; reduce critical technical debt to improve system reliability.
- Achieve cost savings from automation and modernization; drive revenue impact from product enhancements.
- Evaluate, pilot, and adopt modernization technologies; improve platform cost efficiency and performance.
- Develop technical skills across teams and successfully mentor junior engineers.
- Improve team satisfaction through engagement scores, skip-level reviews, and leadership feedback.
- Enhance recruitment success via time-to-hire, quality of hires, and diversity in hiring outcomes.
- Deliver application features and data infrastructure projects on-time and on-budget; manage scope change and rework.
- Improve quality metrics like defect escape rate, production incident frequency, automated test coverage, and code review effectiveness.
- Increase velocity and efficiency by tracking sprint velocity, deployment frequency, and cycle time from requirement to production.
- Manage technical debt: track and reduce it while balancing modernization with new feature delivery.
- Maintain stakeholder satisfaction and communication; align with CIO and leadership, build cross-functional partnerships, and ensure transparency in reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in software or data engineering.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in team leadership as a technical team lead or in senior engineering positions.
- Proven track record in at least three of: application software development, data engineering and analytics, cloud platform architecture, system integration, IT modernization initiatives, or leading technology teams.
- Exceptional ability to deliver intricate technical projects on time with high quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams with diverse business and technology stakeholders.
- Solid background in Agile or iterative development methodologies.
- Experience in managing technical teams or assuming substantial leadership roles within technical organizations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional collaborative spirit and team-building expertise; thrives in cross-departmental environments and excels at forging consensus.
- Proven emotional intelligence; skilled in delivering and receiving constructive feedback and comfortable navigating coaching scenarios and challenging discussions.
- Capable of balancing advocacy for team needs with overarching organizational goals.
- A keen interest in business operations, organizational dynamics, and technologies; proactive in uncovering root causes and seeking opportunities for enhancement.
