About the Role
This role supports the benefits team by managing employee benefits inquiries, processing enrollments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates will work remotely and gain hands-on experience in benefits administration with guidance from experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Respond to employee questions about health, dental, and vision benefits
- Assist with onboarding new hires into benefits systems
- Verify eligibility for benefits based on employment status
- Process changes to benefits elections during open enrollment or life events
- Maintain accurate records in HR and benefits databases
- Support compliance with federal and state regulations including COBRA and HIPAA
- Generate reports related to benefits participation and coverage
- Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve coverage issues
- Track employee life events that impact benefits status
- Assist in preparing materials for open enrollment periods
- Review benefits invoices for accuracy and report discrepancies
- Update employee data in payroll and HRIS systems
- Escalate complex cases to senior benefits coordinators
- Ensure confidentiality of employee benefits information
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Follow internal procedures for documentation and audits
- Help verify compliance with minimum essential coverage reporting
- Support annual benefits audits with accurate data submission
- Communicate deadlines and requirements to employees clearly
- Monitor email and phone channels for timely response to inquiries
- Assist with rolling out new benefits initiatives
- Maintain organized digital files for benefits records
- Follow up on pending employee submissions
- Use case management tools to track inquiry resolution
- Contribute to process improvements in benefits operations

Training & Onboarding
New hires complete a four-week onboarding program covering systems, policies, and common workflows. Training includes live sessions, recorded modules, and supervised practice.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with core hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the employee’s local time zone. Flexibility may be required during peak periods such as open enrollment.
