About the Role
This role involves delivering high-quality meal service in a remote camp setting, stepping in for the Chef as required, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining compliance with dietary, safety, and inventory standards during 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide temporary coverage for the Chef role as needed
- Maintain control over food expenses and ensure efficient use of provisions
- Lead and guide kitchen staff in the absence of the Chef, including training and development of new team members
- Manage inventory tasks, including restocking, unloading, loading, and organizing supplies
- Adapt meal preparation to meet specific dietary needs and restrictions
- Complete and submit all required documentation and inventory records accurately and on schedule
- Support management with administrative duties such as supply ordering during the Chef’s absence
- Adjust menu offerings promptly in response to supply chain or inventory challenges

On-site — Horizon North camp facility
WHAT’S THE JOB?
- Position is based at a premier Horizon North camp with a 14/7 work rotation and 12-hour shifts
- Transportation to the worksite is arranged from a designated point in Edmonton
- Regular relief duties for the Chef are a core part of the role
- Responsible for preparing and overseeing all main meals according to standards
- Must prepare, plate, and serve meals in alignment with menu specifications
