Responsibilities
- Deliver and precisely record direct and indirect patient care that promotes safety, comfort, hygiene, and protection in a timely fashion
- Educate patients on preventing illness and supporting recovery through restorative practices
- Administer medications and therapeutic treatments to support care plans for treatment, prevention, or rehabilitation
- Conduct skin testing, vaccinations, blood draws, and placement of peripheral IV lines
- Monitor and evaluate clinical signs, medication responses, behaviors, and physical conditions to detect normal or abnormal findings and initiate emergency actions when needed
- Develop and carry out personalized care plans based on assessments, following standardized protocols for reporting, referrals, and treatment, with attention to diverse and special patient populations
- Assess patients’ readiness to learn, capacity to follow instructions, and consent capability, while evaluating safety needs related to age and development
- Apply specialized knowledge to recognize and adapt care to meet unique needs across cultural, spiritual, age-related, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, educational, family, and medical factors
