Responsibilities
- Direct the industrialization process with supplier partners or contract manufacturers from initial design through to full-scale production.
- Oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions through production launch with suppliers and OEM clients.
- Develop process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA), Control Plans, capability studies, Measurement System Analyses (MSA), and Design of Experiments (DOE) in compliance with automotive quality standards.
- Assist supplier partners or contract manufacturers in creating design FMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and Work Instructions through close coordination with internal design and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
- Support qualification of tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes at supplier or CM locations in collaboration with engineering and NPI teams.
- Evaluate supplier or CM readiness for each production build phase and assist in identifying and mitigating production risks.
- Lead investigations into root causes and implement corrective actions for quality issues arising from manufacturing or customer field returns.
- Track and report quality performance metrics for suppliers and CMs to internal stakeholders and external OEM customers to drive ongoing quality improvements.
- Apply lean methodologies, statistical analysis, and problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5-Why for resolving quality issues across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during industrialization to ensure products meet industry regulations and internal quality benchmarks.
- Train suppliers on quality management processes, review documentation such as Part Submission Warrant (PSW) components, and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the evolution and refinement of the company’s quality management systems, with emphasis on APQP and supplier/CM oversight.
- Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to supplier or contract manufacturer sites for audits, production support, and issue resolution.
