Responsibilities
- Lead the food safety and quality assurance team, ensuring effective execution of HACCP, SSOP, and other food safety programs.
- Foster a culture of workplace safety by coordinating training initiatives such as lockout/tagout and reporting unsafe behaviors to prevent accidents.
- Develop and communicate quality protocols, delivering both theoretical and practical training to staff members.
- Work closely with production teams and USDA representatives to maintain compliance and build productive working relationships.
- Drive resolution of quality issues using root cause analysis and ensure adherence to customer-specific quality requirements.
- Supervise hourly quality assurance technicians, managing schedules and timekeeping through Kronos, while completing assigned tasks from QA leadership.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support quality and safety objectives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Prior supervisory experience, ideally within poultry processing or slaughter environments.
- Familiarity with USDA and OSHA regulatory standards is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with leadership capabilities.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to customer-specific quality programs and changing conditions.
- Demonstrated math and analytical skills for effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Reliable, ethical, and committed to punctuality and strong work principles.
- Team-focused and self-driven, capable of performing well under pressure in a dynamic setting.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more when required.
Nice to Have
- An Associate degree is preferred.
- Training in GFSI standards, particularly BRC, is advantageous.
- Experience with SAP systems is considered a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Compensation
Base salary range of $60,000.00+
