Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary QA resource within the organization.
- Report directly to the Senior Vice President of Technology.
- Design and carry out test strategies covering the entire platform ecosystem, including customer-facing Shopify stores, B2B wholesale systems, and internal backend platforms.
- Collaborate with Technology, Merchandising, Operations, and Retail teams to establish testing needs.
- Organize and oversee user acceptance testing with relevant stakeholders.
- Guarantee that all platform releases meet defined quality benchmarks prior to deployment.
- Help define and evolve the organization's approach to quality assurance.
- Introduce tools, workflows, and automation infrastructure that support business growth.
- Create and update detailed test plans, cases, and scripts for all systems in the technology environment.
- Collaborate with leadership and product teams to define QA scope and acceptance standards at the beginning of each sprint.
- Develop and refine QA processes, standards, and documentation practices within the DevOps workflow.
- Perform end-to-end functional testing on Shopify platforms, including direct-to-consumer, B2B, and retail POS systems.
- Test integrations between backend platforms such as NetSuite, Toolio, Vibe IQ, Centric, Celigo, and Google BigQuery to verify data accuracy and system compatibility.
- Carry out regression testing after sprint releases, updates, or configuration changes to prevent functional regressions.
- Verify data synchronization between Shopify and backend systems, identifying and recording inconsistencies.
- Take part in sprint activities such as planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives within 2–4 week cycles.
- Manage and prioritize QA tasks across multiple concurrent projects to meet sprint deadlines.
- Record, track, and manage defects in Jira, including clear reproduction steps, severity levels, and supporting details.
- Work with Merchandising, Operations, Wholesale, and Retail teams to coordinate user acceptance testing and integrate feedback.
- Act as the main QA contact for non-technical teams, translating business requirements into testable scenarios and reporting results clearly.
- Partner with developers to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Assess, choose, and deploy a test automation framework compatible with the Shopify-based and integrated tech stack.
- Build automated regression test suites to minimize manual effort and improve release reliability.
- Identify ways to expand test coverage, reduce escaped defects, and shorten QA cycles.
- Maintain well-organized, version-controlled test documentation in Jira and Monday.com, aligned with project timelines.
