Nokia is looking for a QA Engineer to join the team responsible for qualifying our optical networking systems. You will develop test plans and automation for Optical DWDM equipment and protocol testing, performing manual and automated tests to enable continuous execution.
What You'll Do
- Actively contribute to test plan development for Layer 0 (DWDM) and Layer 1 (OTN, Ethernet) based Long Haul, DCI & Metro optical systems.
- Own L0, L1 protocol-based feature test executions, such as FCAPS, NBI Automation, and Security.
- Participate in System Development Lifecycle processes, understand system requirements, and develop detailed test plans.
- Participate in qualifying next-generation operating systems and platforms regarding standard software architectures like Microservices and Containers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize test scenarios based on customer needs to enable feature velocity delivery.
- Automate test scenarios using standard programming platforms to enable multiple executions and harden system feature quality.
- Be a self-driven professional capable of owning and delivering on product qualification.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in ECE, CS, or EEE Engineering with a strong academic record.
- 2-4 years of professional work experience.
- Prior experience in Embedded Optical Network Element System Testing – OTN, Ethernet, GMPLS, DWDM, NBI I/F features (CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC), and System Security.
- Strong skills in test planning, execution, and issue tracking via configuration management systems.
- Expertise in Python programming (or an equivalent language) for automation development.
- Work experience in NBI I/F’s (CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC) based embedded system features.
- Experience with standard process tools and configuration management like JIRA, Confluence, and GIT.
Nice to Have
- Working experience in system control plane & L2/L3 products.
- Work experience in testing Microservices and Container-based applications.
