About the Role

The position involves managing civil engineering aspects of land development projects, including design oversight, client interaction, regulatory coordination, and team leadership to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil design teams on land development projects from concept through construction
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule for multiple assignments
  • Coordinate with clients to understand project goals and deliverables
  • Oversee preparation of site plans, grading designs, and drainage analyses
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Review engineering calculations and technical drawings for accuracy
  • Liaise with public agencies during permitting and approval processes
  • Supervise the development of stormwater management and utility plans
  • Guide junior engineers and technical staff in design and documentation
  • Prepare and present project updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Maintain quality control across all project phases
  • Support business development through client engagement
  • Assist in proposal writing and project scoping
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices
  • Facilitate coordination between survey, environmental, and transportation teams
  • Track project progress and adjust timelines as needed
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities
  • Resolve design issues during construction implementation
  • Promote efficient use of engineering software and tools
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation
  • Support sustainable design principles in site development
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors as required
  • Ensure projects meet safety and accessibility standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methods

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with large-scale master-planned communities
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Knowledge of green infrastructure design
  • Experience in multiple geographic regions
  • Background in civil construction oversight
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software
  • Leadership in professional engineering organizations
