Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project delivery from pre-construction through completion.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, work plans, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Manage heavy civil construction activities including: road building, site preparation, earthworks, excavation, grading, drainage systems, bridges and culverts, utility installation.
- Oversee equipment utilization and productivity.
- Coordinate infrastructure and operational support projects within mining environments.
- Ensure compliance with operational requirements for remote and industrial sites.
- Work closely with site superintendents and operations teams to minimize disruptions to production.
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with: WorkSafeBC regulations, OH&S standards, Health Safety and Reclamation code for mines in British Columbia, Mines Act, environmental legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
- Ensure environmental protection measures are implemented and maintained.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
- Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, Indigenous communities, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Support business development activities, tender submissions, and project proposals.
Requirements
- Experienced Project Manager
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and closing projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with provincial regulations, environmental standards, and client requirements.
- Strong leadership in heavy civil operations, stakeholder coordination, contract administration, safety management, and field execution in remote and challenging environments.
