Responsibilities
- Build websites and web applications using modern content management systems, web development languages, and frameworks such as Drupal, PHP, C#, .NET, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Sass, AJAX, Bootstrap, and Angular.
- Create and maintain dynamic, database-driven web applications and integrations that function within the college's technology infrastructure.
- Design applications and sites that are mobile-responsive and adhere to accessibility, UI/UX design, and browser support standards.
- Work with other IT Services staff to deliver operational and technical support for web, mobile, software, and enterprise applications.
- Help the department and IT Services team resolve technical issues reported by customers.
- Collaborate with clients and technical staff on systems analysis tasks, including gathering requirements, mapping processes, workflows, and data, and reviewing existing or proposed software systems, integrations, and solutions.
- Produce documentation and assist with project work breakdown and implementation planning.
- Provide training, advice, and assistance to departments that are developing and implementing their web pages.
- Recommend resource requirements, including hardware and software, needed to support development and add functionality to the college's information infrastructure.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A university degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering, plus at least two years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience and ability to use modern web development frameworks, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and general UI/UX principles.
- Experience with modern CMS, web development languages, and web application frameworks such as Drupal, PHP, C#, .NET, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Sass, AJAX, Bootstrap, and Angular.
- Understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, web accessibility, and web search principles.
- Familiarity with full-stack development environments like Linux OS, Windows OS, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, IIS, AWS, and Azure.
- Working knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL, and ability to develop applications and integrations using APIs, web services, single sign-on, and enterprise databases such as Oracle, PL/SQL, REST-based services, XML, and JSON.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile software development methodologies.
- Applies software development coding standards, data privacy, secure coding, and quality assurance best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and technical and non-technical staff at various levels, exercising courtesy, professionalism, tact, and discretion.
- Flexible and adaptable in learning, understanding, and applying new technologies, methodologies, tools, and programming languages.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to participate in meetings and group discussions, and create formal and informal documentation as needed.
- Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and assess software-related issues and products.

Nice to Have
- Experience with Drupal 8 or a similar Content Management System would be an asset.
