Responsibilities
- Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Supervise the safety and well-being of the team according to company standards.
- Monitor assigned work and review completed jobs or projects to ensure they meet work scope and company expectations.
- Work with designated trainers and department managers to monitor, guide, and improve employee development, including cross-training, as well as process improvements.
- Participate in and contribute to regularly scheduled department meetings, including monthly meetings and smaller, more frequent group meetings as required, and communicate changes affecting employees in a timely manner.
- Ensure team members follow written and verbal work instructions, use approved gauges and tools, and inspect parts to determine required material removal.
- Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results.
- Collaborate with production planners to prioritize tasks and ensure orders are completed on time.
- Ensure production schedules are followed and adjust as necessary due to machine outages and staffing schedules.
- Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime to meet customer requirements.
- Take ownership of continuous improvement projects as assigned.
- Review reports and tracking mechanisms of performance indicators (KPIs) and integrate information into successful improvement plans.
- Perform functions such as performance reviews, employee development, accountability of team members, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action in partnership with the department manager.

- This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may include fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
- Follow general shop safety procedures, including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
- Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
