SUNOTEC is hiring a Production Design Engineer for our Mounting Systems team in Munich. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and improving PV racking systems, with a focus on PV trackers and fixed-tilt structures. You'll be a key member of our international R&D team, shaping the future of solar energy solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop, design, and improve PV racking systems, focusing on PV trackers and fixed-tilt structures.
- Design mechanical components, develop new products, and optimize existing solutions.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and technical documentation for mechanical components and systems.
- Build and test prototypes, perform mechanical validation, and support product improvements.
- Conduct mechanical testing and analysis of components and systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and installers to ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, and efficient installation.
- Provide technical support to customers, installers, and project teams when needed.
- Travel occasionally to testing facilities or project sites in Europe and other regions.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in mechanical design or R&D.
- Good knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Autodesk Inventor) and MS Office.
- Experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and product validation.
- Strong technical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Fluent English.
Nice to Have
- Experience preferably with PV racking systems (trackers or fixed-tilt structures).
- Knowledge of German, Bulgarian, PV systems, FEM analysis, or tracker control systems is considered an advantage.
