Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the secured lending quality control program across loan origination, servicing, and collections, covering pre- and post-closing reviews, compliance checks, analysis of rejected or withdrawn applications, investor defect assessments, and evaluations of non-performing loans
- Manage the quality control sampling strategy, ensuring statistically valid, risk-focused selection methods that meet regulatory standards
- Act as product owner for the quality control system, overseeing rule approvals, validating outputs, calibrating thresholds, and reporting on performance
- Lead investigations into root causes of defects, investor loan repurchases, early defaults, and other quality failures, and drive corrective actions
- Create and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and trend reports for executive review, including defect patterns, missed detection rates, resolution rates, sample coverage, and follow-up tracking
- Ensure audit and regulatory readiness by maintaining thorough documentation, evidence trails, and compliant processes for quality operations
- Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and servicing teams to establish consistent quality benchmarks, escalation protocols, and resolution timelines
- Supervise quality assessments of third-party servicers, subservicers, and collections partners, ensuring adherence to consumer lending regulations
- Support model risk management by conducting quality reviews related to credit decisions, accuracy of adverse action notices, and patterns in early loan defaults
