Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a well-organized product backlog for generative AI initiatives, including clear problem definitions, acceptance criteria, and completion standards.
- Manage AI-related user stories in Jira with dedicated boards, sprint timelines, and transparent capacity tracking per team workflows.
- Convert high-level product and compliance goals into executable user stories and development tasks.
- Facilitate refinement meetings with engineers, data modelers, and stakeholders to define scope, assess effort, and prioritize work based on business impact and readiness.
- Lead sprint planning, oversee daily stand-ups for the AI team, and resolve impediments to ensure timely delivery and roadmap alignment.
- Define and carry out acceptance testing for new features, validating data lineage, model outputs, and governance functions meet requirements.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure features support audit trails, system monitoring, and controls for hallucination mitigation.
- Create release documentation, user manuals, and training resources; assist DevOps during deployments and ensure client-facing materials reflect updated functionality.
- Serve as the primary connector between product leadership, engineering, data modeling, and platform groups; provide clear updates on progress and risks.
- Monitor and report key software development metrics such as burndown, velocity, throughput, and team capacity; maintain a repository of FAQs, insights, and critical decisions.
- Promote continuous improvement by applying agile principles, identifying workflow inefficiencies, and using AI tools to enhance backlog and documentation processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role in a data-centric setting, preferably involving AI systems, data infrastructure, or healthcare technology.
- Proven experience collaborating with geographically dispersed engineering teams, especially across US and India time zones, with strong knowledge of Scrum/Agile frameworks and tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Track record of transforming strategic product visions into prioritized backlog items, refining stories with technical teams, and managing sprint execution.
- Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and release processes, including coordinating acceptance testing and quality assurance activities.
- Familiarity with healthcare data types such as claims, clinical records, or payer operations, along with exposure to AI/ML technologies.
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities; adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across product, engineering, security, and commercial functions.
- Native or fluent English proficiency required, particularly for roles based in India.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7 V2, FHIR, or X12.
- Background working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, or data environments including Databricks and Snowflake.
- Prior experience in fast-moving, high-growth startup environments.
