Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain a defined product vision for designated digital health platforms.
- Create and oversee the product roadmap, detailing upcoming features, improvements, and system integrations.
- Align product priorities with national digital health strategies, enterprise architecture, and interoperability standards.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring items are clearly articulated, refined, and ranked by importance.
- Draft clear user stories accompanied by specific acceptance criteria.
- Rank features and updates based on user requirements, system impact, and national health objectives.
- Ensure development teams fully understand backlog items prior to initiating work.
- Provide functional oversight and coordination to developers, engineers, and external vendors to deliver prioritized features in alignment with the roadmap.
- Collaborate with software teams throughout development, including sprint planning, reviews, and product demos.
- Offer functional clarification to technical teams as needed during development.
- Evaluate completed features against acceptance criteria before approving sign-off.
- Engage with clinicians, facility staff, community health workers, and program teams to understand workflows and operational challenges.
- Convert user needs into structured user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Ensure system designs support comprehensive care delivery and reporting workflows.
- Lead user acceptance testing, including test scenario creation, tester coordination, and result validation.
- Approve features for release upon successful fulfillment of acceptance criteria.
- Support planning and field deployment of new features, ensuring clear communication and user preparedness.
- Assist in planning and rolling out system updates and enhancements.
- Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure smooth introduction and adoption of new features in operational settings.
- Monitor system usage and adoption, identifying areas needing improvement or additional support.
- Act as the primary functional contact for assigned digital health products.
- Coordinate with Ministry departments, districts, health facilities, partners, and vendors.
- Facilitate product reviews, user feedback sessions, and system demonstrations.
- Provide regular updates on progress and escalate risks or obstacles to leadership.
- Gather and document user feedback and requests for system improvements.

- The role is based in Rwanda.
- The incumbent will be seconded to the Ministry of Health/Digital Office.
- Reports to the Chief Digital Officer and in parallel to the CHAI Digital Health program manager.
- Works with end users, software developers, implementers, and Ministry of Health and Rwanda Biomedical Centre programs.
