About the Role
The fellow will work across teams to help shape privacy practices, support policy development, and contribute to the responsible design of new products and features.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on privacy impact assessments for new product launches
- Support the interpretation and application of global privacy regulations
- Engage with engineering and product teams to integrate privacy by design
- Assist in drafting internal privacy guidelines and documentation
- Monitor evolving data protection laws and regulatory trends
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving data governance
- Help evaluate third-party data processing activities
- Participate in internal training and awareness efforts
- Work with legal and compliance teams on audit readiness
- Support incident response planning related to data privacy
- Analyze data flows across systems to identify privacy risks
- Provide input on user consent mechanisms and notice frameworks
- Contribute to responses for data subject requests
- Engage in discussions around international data transfers
- Support the implementation of privacy-enhancing technologies
- Review product requirements for compliance with privacy standards
- Help maintain records of processing activities
- Assist in vendor privacy assessments
- Contribute to privacy program metrics and reporting
- Work closely with security teams on data protection controls
- Support certification efforts such as ISO or SOC audits
- Participate in red team exercises focused on privacy
- Stay current with industry best practices in data protection
- Provide feedback on privacy policy drafts
- Collaborate on user-facing privacy communications
Nice to Have
- Certification in privacy such as CIPP or CIPM
- Experience in a global organization
- Technical background in computer science or engineering
- Prior work in a startup or high-growth environment
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning data concerns
- Experience with data anonymization techniques
- Knowledge of encryption and data security practices
- Background in human-computer interaction
- Understanding of international regulatory landscapes
- Experience with privacy notice design
