About the Role

Mission Bit is hiring for seasonal, part-time Lead Instructor and Teaching Assistant roles for Summer 2026 courses. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive classroom culture, delivering our curriculum, tracking student progress, and helping students realize their potential.

What You'll Do

  • Create an inclusive and community-based classroom culture surrounding Mission Bit core values.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons using Mission Bit's curriculum.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with students.
  • Communicate and collaborate with instructional staff.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Communicate student progress and success to Program Staff and Education Program Manager.
  • Ensure students develop sufficient understanding to build their capstone project for Demo Day.
  • Support students on their projects in class (Teaching Assistant).
  • Plan and lead community-building games and activities (Teaching Assistant).
  • Promote positive, productive collaboration between students (Teaching Assistant).
  • Lead class in the event that the lead instructor is out (Teaching Assistant).
  • Facilitate in-person workshops including lectures, live-coding demonstrations, coding challenges, and Q&A sessions (Workshop Leader).
  • Meet with Curriculum Developer for training sessions (Workshop Leader).

  • Past or current Mission Bit instructor, volunteer, or alumni.

Team & Environment

This is a highly visible, student-facing role on the Instruction team, reporting to the Education Program Manager.

Work Mode

This is a local, in-person role based in San Francisco, CA.
