KoBold Metals is looking for a Principal Software Engineer-AI to build the core AI and machine learning systems that enable modern mineral exploration. You will design, implement, and deploy scalable solutions that integrate geoscience data and predictive models.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable AI/ML infrastructure and data pipelines
- Collaborate with geoscientists and data scientists to translate research into robust production systems
- Lead technical architecture and set engineering best practices for the AI platform
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling production AI/ML systems
- Expertise in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Proven ability to architect and lead the development of complex, data-intensive software platforms
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across technical and scientific disciplines
Work Mode
This role is remote, open to candidates in the US. You will collaborate with teams across multiple locations, including HQ in Roseville, CA; Austin, TX; Lehi, UT; Plano, TX; San Francisco, CA; San Mateo, CA; and West Palm Beach, FL.
