Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of core game systems and client-side infrastructure using Unity and C#
- Identify and fix deep technical problems affecting game performance, including slow loading, poor frame rate, memory issues, and instability
- Take ownership of assessing, updating, and maintaining external libraries, SDKs, and engine-related dependencies
- Drive architectural improvements that support long-term feature development by other engineering teams
- Create detailed technical design documents and implementation strategies for infrastructure projects
- Estimate effort and scope from high-level requirements, clearly stating assumptions and potential risks
- Adjust technical strategies and plans in response to shifting requirements or platform limitations
- Conduct reviews of code, design documents, and implementation plans created by peers
- Continuously monitor, enhance, and restructure code to meet performance and reliability targets
- Investigate, prototype, and integrate emerging technologies and tools for engineering team benefit
- Collaborate with engineers to lead extended infrastructure and tooling initiatives
- Deliver technical presentations across teams and divisions on implemented system designs
- Contribute to refining team processes and engineering best practices
- Support the growth and development of other engineers through mentorship
