Prematch is hiring a Principal Product Engineer for our European team. This role is about solving customer problems with long-term thinking, owning significant portions of our products end-to-end, and making key product and design decisions within a culture that values ownership and minimal process.
What You'll Do
- Own a large portion of one of our products and lead projects end-to-end, taking on responsibilities traditionally held by product and design roles.
- Research competitors, write product specifications, create wireframes, and drive product definition.
- Take customer problems and drive them to successful, brilliant, and creative solutions.
- Push information outward to relevant stakeholders and pull in team members like designers or infrastructure engineers as needed.
- Tackle projects with significant product and technical ambiguity, building powerful abstractions to solve classes of problems.
- Strike the right balance between speed and quality, moving with urgency while building a high-quality product.
- Create leverage in your work through automation, abstraction, and building tools.

Team & Environment
The engineering team is on track to double this year, with more than 90% of the team considered Senior or above. Engineers run their own projects, while Product Managers and Designers build strategy and hand off problem briefs. The environment is designed to recreate the ownership and agency where engineers do their best work as individual contributors, with minimal process and ownership over decisions normally made by product and design. We emphasize natural collaboration, deliberate communication, and investing in tools and abstractions for leverage.
